The Kansas Veterans' Home (KVH), which opened in 2000, is located on 148 acres in Winfield, Kansas. Winfield, with a population of approximately 12,600, is situated 35 miles southeast of Wichita. Upon arrival, residents and visitors are welcomed by military flag plazas, and the home's buildings and nursing neighborhoods are named in honor of Medal of Honor recipients. The community is known for its friendly atmosphere, vibrant business environment, and excellent schools, including Southwestern College.
