Kafer Peele grew up in Morehead City, a small town on the eastern seaboard in North Carolina, where he graduated from West Carteret High School 1984.

He is married to Jan Peele, a Language Arts Teacher for Winfield High School.  Together they have five children, three girls, two boys, four grandchildren and three dogs. 

Mr. Peele joined the United States Army in December 1987 as a 13E Fire Direction Specialist and was honorably discharged in December 1994.  His tour of duties included Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Bamberg, Germany, and Fort Riley, Kansas.

Mr. Peele was appointed as the Superintendent for the Kansas Veterans’ Home in Winfield, Kansas in December 2015. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Peele served as the Cemetery Program Director, Agency Administrator Officer, Information Resources and Technology Director, and Veterans Service Representative for the Kansas Commission on Veterans’ Affairs.

In 2007, Mr. Peele received his Master of Business Administration from Baker University and his Bachelor of Science in History and Political Science from Emporia State University in 2000. In 2020, Mr. Peele received his certification as a licensed Adult Care Home Administrator.
